Candles + Diffusers

3-12oz-candles.JPG

Candles have been used in ceremonies for centuries to provide a calming and beautiful atmosphere. It’s also a lovely way to practice self-care and lift a mood. Carve out some time to curl up with a book or a person or a pet. Watch a movie or take a bath. It’s so simple and so good for you.

My 12oz. candle will burn for up to 70 hours when properly cared for (see Candle Burning Tips below). It took almost 2 years to come up with my wax blend — a proprietary combination of the highest quality soy and beeswax. It provides a nice long burn in addition to a beautiful scent throw. It isn’t overpowering, but gently fills a room. I really enjoyed creating the fragrance profiles and apply them to all my products. They are hand-poured using lead-free/100% cotton wicking with with premium + phthalate-free fragrances so you can be assured that you’re burning a non-toxic candle that has been given the stamp of approval from my most sensitive clients.

With every 12oz candle purchase you’ll be gifting $5 to local portland schools.

Or you can always go for low maintenance and long lasting with a reed diffuser. Perfect for bedroom, bathroom or other small- to medium-sized spaces.

>>> CANDLE BURNING TIPS:

Each time you light your candle burn it long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the glass/container — if not the edge, then within 1/4” or less. (Not to complicate what feels overly-complicated for simply burning a candle, but if it doesn’t burn all the way to the edge, but is close, this is fine. As the candle burns lower in the jar it will burn hotter, therefore melting the wax around the edges). Doing this creates the right “memory” for the best overall candle burning experience. Always trim the wick to 1/4” between burns. For the 12 oz candle the average burn time should be 3-4 hours. If you light a candle for 15 min each time it will inevitably tunnel down the center of the candle wasting most of the wax and leaving you with significantly fewer burn hours. It may feel counterintuitive — like burning your candle for short times will make it last longer — but this is not the case. And a certain amount of wick-mushrooming is totally normal with natural cotton wicks, but if it starts to smoke, extinguish the candle, let it cool, re-trim to 1/4” and re-light.

If your candle starts to tunnel Try using this trick with aluminum foil.
